WELCOME

You made it! Here it is... the blog where you get to sit back and laugh at - or be completely horrified by - life with 5 kids, 2 parents, some frogs, a cat & a rabbit (and those are just the creatures we know about).

Tuesday's Tip (#18)

Here's a tip for you:

Bring your credit card to the candy store.

I'm not a dinosaur, but I'm sure that penny candy used to actually cost, like, a penny or something. Every year, during our summer vacation, PJ & I take the kids to Kandy Korner. Each kid gets a little basket that they go around and fill with "penny" candy. Believe me - we don't let them go nuts. But, seriously, when did Pop Rocks get to be $1.50? So, after five kids pick out a little basket's-worth of candy, we take out a loan a wallet and pay. It might be steep, but it's our annual tradition. We'll just have to save up to pay for next year!

Kandy Korner has quite a selection!

Have a tip to share? Or a favorite penny candy? Feel free to leave a comment below...

...& be sure to check back every Tuesday for a new tip!

I periodically allow my daughter that opportunity. She loves to see all the obscure shaped candy. The whole experience is fun. Except eating the candy. Inevitably she picks candy that tastes yucky and I end up, months later, throwing candy away.

I keep trying to get the kids to pick chocolate (so I can steal it), but they always want all that sour or super sugary crap. Yuck!
