WELCOME

You made it! Here it is... the blog where you get to sit back and laugh at - or be completely horrified by - life with 5 kids, 2 parents, some frogs, a cat & a rabbit (and those are just the creatures we know about).

Tuesday's Tip (#3) - Birthday Edition

Here's a tip for you:

Do the math.

Today is my birthday. My husband had the kids make cards for me. I got the cutest little handmade cards with sweet little drawings and bubble letters. They were wishing me a happy 35th birthday.

I looked at my husband and informed him that I am 34 today. He seemed truly puzzled and said, "Wait. Am I 36?" No, honey, you are 35 and I am 34. But thank you for trying to take a year off my life.

Don't tell PJ, but this whole 34 thing just occurred to me a few months ago, anyway. I was sure that I was turning 33 this year until it dawned on me that 2012-1978 = 34. This is what happens when you have a boatload of kids. You don't even know how old you are anymore.

(Now, if you are a parent of a bunch of kids and you do know how old you are, I'm sorry if I offended you. And I don't want to hang out with you.)

Have a tip to share? Or maybe you need some help figuring out your age? Feel free to leave a comment below...

... & be sure to check back every Tuesday for a new tip!

So cute...so universal. As you grow older, you'll get just as confused about how long you've been married and just what anniversary you are celebrating!

I'm sure you're right. We have a milestone anniversary coming up in October (our 10th), but we've been together for 18 years already. I have to stop and do the math on those things, too!

We were with a couple a few weeks ago and the husbands were laughing at how us moms can recall the exact time each of our kids was born, how much each weighed, etc. but we can't remember what to get at the grocery store! (or how old WE are!) ;-)

That is so true, Lisa!

"thank you for trying to take a year off my life" Good one!

Happy 35th, er 34th.

For the past three years, I have been thinking I was turning a year older than I actually was on my birthday. When you think you are already 59 and then turn 59, it makes you feel young again (or is that the arteries hardening?).

It's definitely better to realize you are younger than you actually are. I don't know why my husband is trying to age me prematurely!
