WELCOME

You made it! Here it is... the blog where you get to sit back and laugh at - or be completely horrified by - life with 5 kids, 2 parents, some frogs, a cat & a rabbit (and those are just the creatures we know about).

Something's Got To Give

I've finally figured it out:

I just can't do it all.

Every day I wake up with the intentions of getting so many things done. What I've finally realized is that it is completely impossible to do everything that I really want or need to do. In other words, something's got to give. Now, I'm just going to embrace it. If I want to go to the gym, and go to work, and cook dinner, and read a story to the kids, then, chances are, I won't be able to get the laundry done, or organize anything in my house.

Now it's just a matter of deciding what I can let go of in any given day. Today we went apple picking. And to a birthday party. And watched football. So, I probably won't pack the lunches tonight. Or make it to the gym. Or fold the mounds of laundry.

Meh. There's always tomorrow. I'll miraculously find all kinds of extra time to get everything done. Or start taking speed and forgo sleep altogether. I'm going to keep that one in my back pocket just in case.

*Leave a comment below if you know how to get it all done... I could use the inspiration. But I definitely won't be your friend anymore. ;)

There just isn't enough time to get it all done AND spend quality time with your family. Lissie, when you are gone NO ONE is going to remember whether your house was clean and organized. They will remember what a wonderful mother and wife you were. Family time is more important than clean socks...every time!

"Family time is more important than clean socks every time!" I LOVE that Jeanne!! I might have to have that etched into a plaque and hung on every wall in my house!!!

Lissie, I do not know how to get it all done, but I do know exactly how you feel!!!

Jeanne, I'm kind of banking on your wisdom, there. And I'm figuring that the laundry won't be done until these guys move out, anyway, so I might as well just get over it!

Lisa & Sue, I figured I'd be in some good company! :)
